Fall 2009 INTRAMURAL SPORTS
School is back in session…and so are the stresses that come with being busy. The perfect tension reliever? Intramural sports. Beginning in the next couple weeks, we have Men’s and Women’s Flag Football and Co-Ed Softball, as well as a three-on-three basketball tournament later in the semester.
Flag football will begin Friday, September 11. There will be both a men’s league and a women’s league. Games will be played on Fridays from 3:00 to 8:00pm and Saturdays 10:00am to 3:00pm on the new and improved athletic field next to the basketball courts. Teams consist of no more than 11 people on a roster. Only current students and faculty are allowed to play. If you are interested in playing, signups begin today, Monday (8/31), and last through Friday (9/4). There will be a captains meeting next week before play begins. When signing up, each team captain must choose a color (other than yellow), a team name (inappropriate names will be rejected), and submit a roster. The attached roster form contains all of this information. If you don’t have a team, you can express interest as a free agent (individual participant form attached). You will then be placed on a team.
Co-ed softball will begin Wednesday, September 16, and will be played for 9 weeks every Wednesday night with the exception of November 11. The tentative time for games is 5:00 to 10:00pm. Teams must consist of at least 9, but no more than 12, players on a roster and must contain at least 4 females. Team captains need to choose a team color, team name, and submit a roster. The attached roster form contains all of this information. Signups will begin Monday (9/7), and last through Friday (9/11). You can also be a free agent in softball, so sign up even if you don’t have a team (individual participant form attached).

In addition to the forms above, every person participating must complete an Activity Liability Injury Waiver Form which will be given to captains in a separate email to distribute to their team.
